The Relationship between Preeclampsia with the Occurrence of Postpartum Depression in Masyita Delivery Hospital Makassar, Indonesia

Preeclampsia in Indonesia remains a huge problem during pregnancy with high morbidity and mortality.Many risk factors influence the occurrence of preeclampsia, such as family history preeclampsia,kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, chronic hypertension that has been suffered previously by pregnant mothersbefore (preeclampsia superimposed), obesity, postpartum depression. The research objectivewas to determine relationship between preeclampsia depression inMasyita Delivery Hospital Makassar. This study used quantitative method cross-sectionaldesign. Sampling using purposive sampling sample size 61 mothers. Collecting datausing questionnaire analyzed Chi-Square test. found mothers whoexperienced mild were 34 subjects 8.8% them had depression, severepreeclampsia experienced 7 71,4% results ofstatistical tests Chi-square obtained p-value=0.001. concluded there is significantrelationship incidence Masyita HospitalMakassar, Indonesia.
